Support. I've said there's something about peaceful protesting and masks that just don't seem to go to together.

Soon as they put those masks on they feel free to go from peaceful protesting to mass rioting.

The only reason they want to hide their identity is because they are engaging in criminal behavior.

You think police in places like Berkeley or Portland would actually enforce it?

That's not how this works at all. Local police don't enforce federal law.

Here's how it would work. You're a little ANTIFA bitch who puts on a mask and hits somoene in the head with a bicycle lock, 4chan figures out who you are and the local police arrest you for assault , THEN a US Attorney shows up and further charges you with the federal offense of wearing a mask while rioting, really no different than they handle so many federal laws now where there aren't federal agents out looking to arrest people , but once they are arrested for something local by local police and identified as also having broke a federal law, the feds come in.

I'm for it. Something has to be done to cool some people off.

What of groups who protest bad organizations who wear masks in order to protect themselves from retribution?

Anonymous and the Guy Fawkes masks come to mind. They literally protest the Church of Scientology in masks due to the policy the church has on "Suppressive people".

Anonymous is not a violent group in this instance. Just one example of why blanket bans are moronic.

I don't buy it. Try walking into your local 711 at 1 AM with a mask on and try telling the clerk "first amendment, bro." Let's see how long you remain alive or not in prison.

The local 7-11 is not the federal government. A private business should have the right to apply whatever dress code they wish as long as it complies with the Health Department. I don't like the idea of the government telling me or anyone else what they can wear though. You give them that authority and eventually someone will abuse that power and start going NFL and fining people for not having long enough socks or government approved shoes. Besides all you would have to do to get around this is buy a motorcycle helmet and a bicycle or scooter.

I'm all for States doing anti mask, not the Fed. Like has been stated, not Constitutional for the Fed to do it (1st and 4th). But if any/all states want to ban masks, more power to them!

And while they are at it, include banning use of masks by police! Public Service employees, paid by tax money collected from the public, should be publicly identifiable at all times.

Should also be legal to shoot to kill as nuisance animals anything in a mask. After all, if it's masked its identity how can I see that it is human?

If someone is committing a crime then they should be arrested whether they have a mask on or not.

Problem with that is a person can commit the crime and then take off the mask and act innocent. Are you in favor of police being able to wear masks with no other identifying markers?

However I do wish police would seriously crack down on violent riots.

How?? If you can't be identified, how are the police supposed crack down on the perps?? The "logic" seems to be in line with people who are against voter ID.

The answer is not "Ban all masks!"

You're a complete pussy if you have to wear a mask to protest.

How do you identify people with masks? So I guess you're for voting without ID?
You arrest them onsite and remove their masks to book them.

I agree. If a state wants to pass a law prohibiting masks, so be it. Shouldn't be a federal issue.

I'm not for mask-laws. I am for voter ID laws. Hope your head doesn't explode.

I'm more conservative, voted for Trump. But I support gay marriage, pro-choice, I'm agnostic but not anti-religion, pro-second amendment, pro free speech, pro-small government, pro-drug legalization... think you see my point. People can hold what some would consider 'contrarian view points' that don't fit neatly into one-side or the other.

It's not all black and white.

How? They can run away, have a couple people reflexively cover for them, the perp takes off the mask and acts innocent.

What if criminals use a gun in the act of committing a crime...should we repeal the second amendment?

It's the same logic.
