Understood.
My guess is that we have turned major components of the military. It's hard to believe that we could capture the President and his wife---ON A MILITARY BASE---without losing any American personnel, unless there was a stand down order.

The story does seem so contrived that suspension of belief in reality is necessary.
But, a surreptitious story about their VP collecting the $50mil reward which also resulted in a promotion to the president was going to be a hard sell for the communications department.
