Only id add that the first deal came before the old deal and the new testament is the revelation of the first deal.

The promise of salvation by faith was given to Abraham and all of his spiritual descendants ( by faith) on Mt Moriah long before the levitical law was delivered to Moses. I believe it was near 700 years before.
So the "first deal" was salvation by faith.
It was always the plan.
