Well when their commander in shitpants tells the American public he will use F16s against them it becomes a problem. Duty isnt what it used to be. The question becomes will your son follow an order to turn his guns against us. I served this country and I can tell you it's not a matter of if but when that order comes down. And dear old dad if he refuses they will have no problem shooting him for being a traitor. Also, we have no business in Ukraine just like we had no business in Iraq, Afghanistan or Vietnam. Pull your head out of your arse and pay attention.

I’ve never called myself a Patriot.

You’re projecting stuff that doesn’t exist, per usual.

quote:

You wont understand this but people in the military die for the guy (or girl) on their left and right. Its hard to explain, even if you dont like that person you would give it up for them. Its a wonderful feeling to be in the company of people like that.

No, I completely understand it. People in wars often resort to this, fighting for the person next to them. It is a result of not being able to justify the reasons being in such a situation, when all the lies and political machinations melt away and you realize you aren’t really fighting and killing for freedom, or democracy, or finding WMDs, or to preempt an attack.

You realize you’ve been lied to by the politicians that ordered you to war. You realize that you are a pawn being used in a political power play.

So you do the only thing you can believe in: you fight to just stay alive and keep the person next to you in the same situation alive until you can gtfo of there.

It’s a painful, stripped to the bone reality of just trying to survive. Not for country. Not for a cause. But just for yourself and the person next to you.

But the most unforgiving and disgusting reality of all in these abusive and sordid realities...

Is how people like you still support and call for the abuse of people who have offered up their lives.

When a politician misuses and abuses the trust and obligation that a soldier gives, that politician dishonors the soldier.. And you applaud that act.

When people like you applaud and call for more of that behavior, you do even more than dishonor the soldier.

Yes and they died for Cheney, the Deep State cabal, Halliburton, the MIC and the political elites. Exactly those that are pushing it and benefitting from the unnecessary American involvement in the war in the Ukraine. They most certainly did not fight and die for MY—or any American’s—freedom in Iraq, no matter how much they were told they did. I can fight for my own freedom when the time comes.

Would you have sent your son to die for Trump? Obama? Regan?

No for all of them. But I have a sneaking suspicion you'd sacrifice your firstborn for your hero Zelensky.

I said he's a Marine and would do his duty. As to purpose thats up to the corp.

No it’s not.

It’s up to the commander in Chief.

That means it’s up to this guy what your son will do:

And whatever shadowy, unaccountable cabal of Neocons that are telling him what to do. That is who will determine your son’s life.

You want to put your son’s life in that person’s hands and apparently be cool with that reality, that’s your own way.

What if their commander orders them to shoot American citizens?

Would you say they just did their duty?

That's precisely why I said you don't do it for a president (government), you do it for you country.

Again, a bunch of feeble minded people can't separate the 2. Not surprising.

In some circumstances, yes.

“Shooting looters” is the first that comes to mind.
