The Sun: Chelsea have rejected Manchester City's £30 million bid for David Luiz...

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is set to make another move to bring Daniel Sturridge to Anfield, with a deal for the Chelsea forward believed to be within touching distance. Sources close to the Anfield club have told ESPN that Rodgers has been pursuing Sturridge all summer, with the glut of midfield signings at Chelsea pushing the Team GB Olympics player down the pecking order of Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo. Few days old. Dandy posted about it on Monday, I think.

I wouldn't put a ton of stock into it. We really don't need another attacking player. Unless kaka can play holding mid, we don't need him.

Arsenal Sahin switch on hold as Wenger considers option of permanent deal OMG when will this end? We always screw around with transfers negotiations and end up losing the player we are after. Wenger needs to realize that the window is closing and he needs to get a couple signings in and actually sell some the crap that we have.

Given that we have now sold 3 of our top 4 CBs from last year/last 4 or 5 years and only brought in Vlaar, we aren't exactly deep at the position

Is it so hard to type Azpilicueta?

No but I had no idea what his name was or how to spell it. If he signs for Chelsea I'll learn it.

Yes but Collins, Dunne and Cuellar were all on 40,000 GBP per week or more. Vlaar looks to be a good replacement (and his wages will be in line with our new wage structure) and this season should be Clarks chance to make that other CB spot his.

Obviously if Dunne goes as well we will have to sign some cover at CB to go along with Nathan Baker who will probably be 4th choice at CB and 3rd choice at LB this season.

Also it looks like Matt Jarvis is going to West Ham for nearly 11 million GBP. Poor signing IMO, way too much for a very average bottom of the table EPL winger.

Kaka has removed "Real Madrid player" from his twitter bio so it certainly looks like a move somewhere is in the works

I take it you are not a big fan of Richard Dunne.

Well his first season with us (2009) he was the value signing of the season IMO. Since then he has had the occasional great game but he can be a huge liability and generally gifts the opposition a chance every game or two. I think he has suffered a lot over the last few seasons because he has been played next to Collins who is probably the least disciplined CB I've seen regularly start in the EPL.

But I think given his age, high wages, injury/fitness problems and inconsistency that we would be better off without him.

Its about time. Has it really taken him 2 years to realize he's not part of Jose's plans? I'd love to see him either move back to AC Milan (unlikely) or to the EPL. United definitely don't need him now that they have Rooney and Kagawa. Arsenal makes the most sense to me but not so sure they'd be willing to pay his wages.

I definitely think MLS has a shot. I'm fairly certain he wants to play there at some point. I'd imagine he wants to play out one more contract at a top European club before he considers a move to MLS though, especially considering he really hasn't played in three years.

Yea I would like Kaka. He still has something left in the tank. But as you stated we wont be willing to pay his wages.

Kaka would be terrible at Arsenal. And he'd sit the bench.

He's not the same player because of his injuries. His athleticism was a big part of what made him elite.

He's just settling down and getting married, his wife made him do it.

Not really sure. Wouldn't be surprised if Kaka never actually had that in his bio. Twitter loves gossip. But he was kept out of the squad today. I think Milan will happen.
