It's almost tonight!
If you guys dole out £20-25mil, take his candy arse, says the heartbroken RvP lover from way back aka after his ridiculous volley v Charlton.
Be interesting to see what happens there and if we buy another striker.

Alberto Botía in Seville to sign with Sevilla.
On loan the 2012/13 season, at the close of said season his acquisition is officially effected.

wait for it.........
a) he's actually much better as of late
b) he's no worse than blah, blah, blah
c) anything to give "us" an advantage (not everyone can play the beautiful game, why try? and get two or three goal rammed down your gullet in the first half?)
d) all of the above
e) hey let's talk about lampard, er, uh, I mean, terry

I have spoken out against Drogba's antics many times.
However, he definitely had gotten significantly better the last couple of years and very rarely did he actually dive. The extended laying on the ground to waste time or catch his breath or whatever is definitely annoying and frustrating but not quite on the same level as trying to dupe the ref into penalties or cards for opponents.

There was no element of C anywhere in my response.

Ugh, I wish I could have played the game before he got here.. my guess was A though.

This is pretty similar..

I hate to derail the transfer thread on this again, but after CR7 left, Drogba became the most notorious diver in the EPL. He doesn't just time waste, so i don't know why you continually say that. (for the record, it's Ashley Young now)

Come on man that's all B.

I honestly thought he was going to spin it back on a guy like CR7.

Based on his reputation yea, and he deserved that reputation.

Like I said, in the last couple of years he had gotten much better about the out and out diving. Still did a lot of lame stuff but was definitely much better than before.

No, he really didn't. He went down for long periods of time at the slightest hint of contact. He only started getting up because everyone knew he wasn't hurt, and he couldn't curry sympathy with refs this way. His antics during the first leg against Barcelona was some of the worst play acting I've ever seen. Slowing down a game by staying on the ground every time he's touched is also simulation. I'm quoting here from the FIFA rulebook on when a yellow card should be awarded.
quote:
attempts to decieve the referee by feigning injury or pretending to have been fouled.
The rules don't make a differentiation between simulating for a foul, and feigning an injury, and I'm not sure why you think one is better than the other. It's as unsporting as the diving you claim to despise, and that is the end of it. I'm sure you'll try to judge it on some imaginary continuum though.

Well this is obviously an opinion. To me laying on the ground is not nearly as bad as trying to decieve the ref into falsely winning a potential match deciding PK or having a fellow professional carded or sent off. You don't have to agree.
Yes, the 1st leg against Barcelona were embarrassing both for himself and the club.

Sweet, hopefully the board will seize this opportunity. Javier seems a great get especially with our preseason injury problems. Maybe they will accept a bid less than 40mm
