Selling Nani could be the ultimate balancing act for Manchester United's top-heavy squad

So we got the option to buy?
Posted on 8/22/12 at 8:08 am to cwil177
At first it was reported with no option to buy because they couldn't agree on a 14 mill buyout clause but recent talk is that there could be. Won't find out until its official I guess.

quote:Fiorentina been quietly putting together a very good offseason. Very shrewd buys like Pizarro, Borja Velo, and Matias Fernandez. If they can manage to keep Jovetic they could make some noise in Serie A.

DONE DEAL: Watford striker Gavin Massey has moved to Colchester on a free transfer, signing a three-year contract. He spent time on loan with the Essex club last season.

Smart move by Colchester. I like what they are doing this summer.

He's excelled with the U21, and was a pre Euro 2012 absolute selection finalist (round of 30 players).
From Pamplona and Osasuna's development programme, he never succumbed to the sirens of Sociedad or Bilbao.
Tremendous 'tren inferior' (leg and lower body musculature), product of his career threatening knee injury, which has been conscientiously developed to ensure that a new ACL tear be much more difficult to occur again.
He was on the Big Two's lists for some time.
Haven't seen him play but once since he went to Marseilles.
He is quick, positions well, has great range, and is intelligent.
I don't think he'll be another Del Horno for y'all (he should work out).

So he's a good deal at the reported 7 million? Obviously, he's going to play backup to the Serb.

Found this on footyfest
quote:
22-year old Spanish right back Cesar Azpilicueta has represented his national side at every youth level imaginable, earning more than 50 caps in the process. He started his career in the Osasuna youth academy, and worked his way into the first team for whom he played for 4 years before making a shock 7 million euro move to Olympique de Marseille in France’s Ligue 1 in 2010. It took Azpilicueta no time whatsoever to adapt to significantly different style of French football, however, just 4 months into his career at Marseille, the defender ruptured ligaments in his knee, causing him to miss the rest of the season. A year later, back at the top of his game, Azpilicueta is attracting some serious interest from two clubs in desperate need of a quality right back – Real Madrid and Chelsea. While Madrid are looking for an upgrade to Alvaro Arbeloa, a competent, but no where near world class defender, Chelsea’s need is considerably more desperate, having no first choice right back at the club after releasing Jose Bosingwa on a free transfer. Azpilicueta will have a tough job choosing between a legendary team back home or a team which appears to be destined for greatness.

in the bus parking matches, I would suppose so.
Where your club feigns to be a free footballin' side, Azpilicueta ought to start.
Seriously, the Serb's a CB, isn't he?
