wait what?

That has to be including the Di Maria buy and this summer

its what ever though. This is par for the course now, never thought id see Liverpool let alone Spurs spend 100 mill in one summer.

It is.

And LFC have only spent £35m net after the Suarez sale plus a couple other deals. Not to mention the frick ton of money the club got from TV deals and CL.

You guys were going to spend 70+ regardless

both clubs needed an overhaul so doing this once a while is ok. It becomes a problem when its every year like PSG and City did.

City spent like madmen to catch up but it seems like they're kind of slowing down in that regard.

Manchester United spent that on one player without any CL or big sales.

Yea they've become financially responsible for what it's worth. They've become more focused on building a foundation with the top academy they are building.

Deflecting like a champ

You have gone on and on and on at times about the amount of money City and Chelsea have spent.

Remember in 2012 when Ferguson said "He's a good player, but £34m?" in regards to Hazard? Funny how things change

Looked it up. If Manchester United fail to qualify for CL this year their kit sponsorship is slashed by 35%.

They're definitely going for it, but they've got a lot to lose.

Louis is going to be so grumpy this season. When they finally turn it around, he'll be sure to tell everyone how great he is.

Of course he will. And it will be a miracle because the back half of that team is so shite.

Di Maria is a great player. I'm excited to see what he does, but you have to wonder what it will be like going from playing alongside Modric, Xabi and Khedira to Cleverly, Fletcher and Young.

Oh my god that would be amazing haha. Bring them back to a more even plane after that ridiculous kit deal. That's the Chevy deal right?

After like 5 years of spending 100 million every off season.

Even this year they spent a lot more than you think they would with the FFP sanctions.
52 Million pounds and really haven't sold other than Jack Rodwell. But their limit was supposed to be 49 million. So they have to be done.

United will be fine with FFP. Player transfer fees have amounted to 13% of net income generated since the Glazers took over. We underspent for years and are trying to make up for it now on the back end.

ETA: That percentage figure includes the pending Di Maria purchase.

Its one thing to spend like gang buster once every 6 to 8 years like SAF did and we are basically up on that cycle. Its another to do it every season.

Ive said that many times.

SAF also spent 27 on Rio
27 on rooney
28 on veron
30 on Berba

so times really have not changed.

o and we are about to sell sell sell

Just looked it up we actually made money selling Buttner
