Carvalho is recovering from a broken leg, correct? If I'm right, when is he supposed to come back?

Can't think of any other young, attacking midfielders playing for Real Madrid ETA: Seeing that he plays deeper than I thought. Anyone who watches Serie A have an opinion on his possible role?
In the few times I've watched Inter with him, he's been a deep-lying CM who charges forward from time to time. He can dribble well, pretty creative passer.
His defense is OK, I guess.
Kovacic, in my opinion, is a bit more of a dynamite prospect than a player that has consistently changed games thus far.
I believe Mancini really wanted to keep him at Inter. However, Inter were willing to let him go (due to their FFP problems) as they are focused on getting back into a CL spot in a rapidly improving top third of the Serie A and need players that are ready now.
Why he's such a coveted prospect is his ultra-slick control in tight spaces and that he makes some absolutely outlandish passes which only a handful of players would even consider.
As a couple of people have alluded to, he has been a bit of a man without a clear position. It seems that making him a truer DLP has been Mancini's plan yet he's really been strongest in picking out passes in the final third and not in reading the game and taking charge of spreading play from a deeper position.
He's also not really much of a defender at this point.
You could compare his skill set to Pjanic or Modric when they were his age and not be exaggerating in the least.
On that note, Pjanic also struggled early on to consistently impose himself on matches aside from just making youtube highlight touches, dribbles and passes here and there.
Kovacic, to me, is the type talent that you kind of wish would not go a bigger side than Inter but a smaller one for a season or two and just play every match with less pressure but that seldom happens these days.

Nicolás Otamendi will be officially unveiled as a Manchester City player on Monday. The Valencia defender, who on Sunday did not attend training with his teammates but was at the club's offices, will complete a transfer to the Etihad for 40 million euros, with France international Eliaquim Mangala moving to the Mestalla on loan. Valencia have finally buckled under the defender's repeated demands to be allowed to leave, which reportedly led to him asking manager Nuno to be excused from training.

he´s got a stress fracture.

Sounds like a pretty exciting signing.
Yeah, not ideal, but he should get opportunities to play

i don't know how real will fit modric, isco, james, bale (who is reportedly the new 10) and him in the same lineup so odds are he'll be benched

Yeah, my concern would be that for such a high profile signing to Real Madrid, people may expect him to step in and not be quite so "raw" right away.
Best to keep in mind that he never actually established himself as a regular starter for a much weaker Inter side even if the flashes of ridiculous skill were apparent.

He is definitely one of the more talented midfield prospects around.

Shite assuming you keep Benzema in center and CR7 out wide a high profile player you already had will ride the pine a lot.....I'm looking at Isco unfortunately.

He'll basically be competing directly with 3 players (Casemiro, Kroos, Modric) for 2 spots after a season in which the midfield shite itself due to a lack of rotation. Silva should be the 4th non-EU player. Illarra is typically ignored.

Since he can offer a driving force from a deeper position, I'm sure that he'll be put into situations where he'll have opportunities to do that. Would expect Casemiro to rotate in before him in games with a smaller margin of error, so he shouldn't be under too much pressure, for Real Madrid anyway.

If he's ok with 2nd man minutes then cool cause i think that out of those 4 obviously Kroos and Modric get the lion's share.
Posted on 8/17/15 at 9:46 am to LSU316
he's young so i imagine he won't be pushing for major minutes this year. i think the attack gets overhauled next year and that may shake up the midfield. and, sadly, it does appear that isco is the odd man out. he's going to be a beast of beasts on another team where he gets to pull the attacking strings as a true 10

I think something like this could end up being lethal for Real.
De Gea (yea yea yea)
Marcelo - Pepe - Ramos - Danilo
Kroos - Modric
James - Bale - Isco
CRon
To me that looks like a UCL contending lineup and a lineup that would absolutely give Barca's suspect back line fits in the league....but what the hell do I know.

Pretty good stuff.
I´m not sure Danilo is capable of displacing Carvajál, just yet.
Bale in the center doesn´t excite me at all. He´s still a trackstar and has a great shot, but I don´t see him being adept enough with the ball in the middle.
Also, I don´t think Cron is going to be nearly as effective, battling CBs on his own.
As for Isco being odd man out with Benítez, that would suck donkey dicks, for sure. He´d be well advised to take a high profile transfer.

Very good point....and I agree actually.

Both good points but if CRon can't play up top and you have to keep Benzema there then that kills my plan to get Isco on the field regularly
