or a 2-man front with ADM playing traditional LM? then you have a midfield problem
From what I understand they want to play him out left, with Lucas out right and Pastore at cam with Verratti and Matuidi in the middle

The only situation in which keeping DDG really makes sense is if they think he is the difference between making the CL and not making the CL.
No it matters in the whole picture of things. The EPL does not evenly distribute the TV money. The better season you have the more you are on sky which means the more money you make. Same goes with the cups with the bigger teams on tv more bc not every match is on tv and with Europe the farther you go the more money you make. That would be more than what Madrid is offering if he can help the team win.

again
this just kicks your problem down the road 1 year and you're back in the same position of not having DDG AND missing out on 15M

i was going to suggest this without the striker issue, but if they think ibra/lavezi will sit the bench a bunch then that would work

Exactly. If this is the case, then the following season is going to be sheer hell.....

Lavezzi is on the transfer block. He's not going to be a regular starter next year even if he doesn't get sold.
Ibra is a more delicate situation, I could see them playing 4-4-2 some but they tried that full time last year and it didn't work well. They have promised Cavani regular time as a central striker. He really came on strong in that role towards the end of last season and Ibra spends so much time either injured or suspended as it is. I don't know exactly how they plan to juggle it but that's what the club are telling the fans the plan is

We don't need the 15 million. Especially if money made having him on the team is more than 15million Madrid wants to pay.
Keep him and he could sign a new deal.
If need be we can replace him in a year

City don't need the money either but you have no problem bashing them for how they choose to manage it

Lavezzi has been rumored back to Argentina, but I wouldn't mind him doing another stint in Serie A.

Atletico Madri and Fiorentina have reached an agreement for the transfer of Stefan Savic. Just 45 minutes before the squad was set to jet off for a pre-season tour of the United States, Savic received a call from the club alerting him of the news and instructing him not to travel with his teammates, to whom he bid farewell at the airport.
The Montenegrin will travel to Madrid tomorrow for a medical. Atleti have agreed to pay the Tuscan club €12 million for the transfer with Mario Suarez also going the other way. The Spanish midfielder is expected in Florence tomorrow to finalise the deal.
The Atleti board have been working on the deal to sign the centre back for months, and AS reported a couple of weeks ago that Savic was being targeted by the club to bolster Simeone’s defensive line. He was, in fact, the coach’s first choice. Signing a centre back had long been a priority for the club, and now they have one.

He was lost his year at City. He probably made that move a couple years too soon.

Did City really pay £5mill (+£6mill) for a player who has never completed 90 minutes? Da frick?

Give it up
If City generated that much revenue it would be different than having an owner supplement the spending.

It's not different. Where the money comes from is irrelevant.

For fricks sake give it up
I'm done debating this shite.

No you're not.
But seriously, if y'all could have a dedicated thread for your circle jerk arguments that would be great.

He brought it up. I've been avoiding him on that shite for a while now. I'm going take Bleed's lead on this and not bother with him.

I second this motion.
But really, it gets me that somehow there's a problem about where the money comes from or how its spent for City. It's not like Mansour is asking any of us for funds to make these transfers happen.
On the DDG topic, i don't think it's a money issue at all. I personally don't think United will compete for the title this year, but they have gotten better. Money just isn't an issue for United, just like it isn't for City, and they would rather keep their above average goalie than sell him for £15 mil which I think is probably the right move. They'll also have a whole another year to try and convince him to sign.

Did you just say DDG was above average
