FYI, the league site needs to be updated with my new team name....y'know, since I don't have Kane anymore

Post your lineups in here before Saturday.
Let me know if you have any questions.
I will be making up something to create an in-season FA Cup. It will only occur on weeks with 10 matches and every team playing once. It will not occur during AFCON. It will be formatted like the FA cup with single elimination and replays if necessary. Not sure how to randomize 20 teams.

Random.org List Randomizer
Just input the 20 teams and hit "random." Decide beforehand which positions you'll pair with each other.

I know how to do that. I meant, how do I determine who gets a first round bye? Will probably completely randomize it and not help out the top 2015/16 pl teams from last year.

Also need to figure out how to keep an even number of teams each round. Right now we start with 20 which means by round 3 you will have 5 which won't work.
We can have the 1st round be all 2nd division to get them down to 5. So now we have 15 teams.
2nd round would be those 5 teams plus 9 teams from the 1st division with last year's champ getting a buy. This would produce 7 remaining teams plus the champ which gives us 8 and now you have the quarterfinals.

I was thinking about that earlier - I was thinking you have the last 8 to join second division teams play eachother in round 1, thus leaving 16 teams for round 2. Future years can have it be the last 8 in the previous years second league standings? That might make a problem with the last promoted team though, etc.

The goal is to make the first round only eliminate four teams and go from 20 to 16. Once we are at anything 2^x, we are set.
I may enter all newcomers into a randomizer and eight have to play an extra game, but what is the fairest way? frick over only the newbies (does that count Col Reb and Jack woods)? Only the championship is entered? Do previous owners (like inaugural league champ DB10AFC) get an exemption? Enter all 20 teams?
In true FA style, the Premier League would enter at a later stage. The Championship would have six survive and then play the ten PL teams in the FA proper.

If you want to mimic the real FA I think my way above is the best way. Plus it gives an added bonus to the previous year's champion (this year it would be who won the league last year but next year it can be the previous cup winner that enters in the quarters)
Or if you want to go from 20 to 16, either have a 2 week playoff where it's just total points and the lowest 4 point totals are eliminated. Or use the cumulative point totals from the entire season up until that point.

Your idea is definitely not a bad one at all, and we may go with it (two people up voted it and you got a
so that's good). I am just not entirely sure how I want to reward/punish certain teams.

Shoot Ashley Williams just transferred to Everton - where he likely won't play week 1 and he may not play every game. Matip is coming back from injury.
So, likelihood of my having 3 defenders play is low....
