I forgot to bring that up as a rule change. I think it is pretty shitty to draft someone in round 13, and it bumps you to the top.

Is it too late to amend the rule? I would not mind seeing it only apply for a top five pick or have a sliding scale.

Also, I will try and get the League Site updated soon, but I will lag behind on the draft tracker on the first page since I have to use mobile only for that.

don't hate the player, hate the game

ETA: really, it's a goofy loophole that I'm not completely sure has ever been fully exploited

I agree. A 5th round pick or better bumps you up otherwise no. (or delete the rule altogether). Since we're only in the 2nd round I don't see the rule change as a problem.

Also, regarding supp draft --> I don't propose we change the reverse order rule now after we've begun but the snake draft already evens things out. The last pick basically gets 2 first rounders etc. We should either randomize the supplemental draft order or go by reverse order of standings at the time, or something like that IMO.

I believe it has been exploited once before (not intentionally) when someone drafted Edin Dzeko late and turned him into the top pick.

Mick, my reasoning for reverse draft order is that the draft is an odd number of rounds (small benefit for teams at the top), the draft is very top heavy, and you (myself included) have the chance to have pick last, but no one does.

Lose a top 5 pick: jump to the top. Do we want a further incentive for losing a guy in rounds 6-15? Move up one spot? Three? Sliding scale?

Let's make sure we bold our picks from now on so they're easy to find.

I also think there should be a fair play element - I think we are all looking to do right, but if someone drafts a nobody that's getting ready to retire back to his first team in the Swedish league then obviously it shouldn't count.

Not enough examples to be statistical relevant but I wonder how well the last two pickers (who nominally would have the highest supplemental picks) have done in the league table over the last few year - average table finish per picking position?

Agreed. I vote yes.

Negative. I vote no compensation for losing a 6th-15th rd player.

The issue with dzeko is that if he had stayed it was excellent pick from a risk reward standpoint. But it may have been done purely for transfer reasons.

Lets definitely keep discussing this, but we need a resolution even though people will act in good faith. I am fine with top five getting bumped to the top for now, but fair play is relevant. Drafting a crap bench guy who is heavily linked outside the Prem is pretty bs, but there should be compensation if you lose a great player. Imagine if your first rounder was lost (someone lost Bale two years ago).

The league site (Google sheets link in Op) is up to date. War otc
