Down to DB10_AFC and Wait for it...

Each are waiting for two of their last opponent to score their games.

The season recap by arse was dope. I want to do one for my own side.

We now only need the following scores:

Week 35: McCaigBro69

Week 36: McCaigBro69, GeauxColonels, etm512

After 35 games each, DB10_AFC has 73 points and scored 79 points in Week 36 vs. McCaigBro69. Wait for It... has 72 and scored 66 points in Week 36 vs. Geauxcolonels.

Thank You For Your Service FC Season Recap

With 60 points, my club has locked in the final UCL spot for next season, but they were never title contenders.

This squad was defined by stretches of absurd hot and cold runs. The streaks occurred in this order:

- Started the season losing 6/7
- Shortly followed by a 6-game win streak
- Then, a 5-game win streak
- Reversed the good play with a 7-game losing streak
- Finished strong on a 6-game win streak

17/20 wins came from massive hot streaks. When you're on, you're on.

GK:

Neil Etheridge (Cardiff City) - 141 (GK4)
Kepa Arrizabalaga (Chelsea) - 135 (GK6)

Kepa was my summer Supplemental Draft pick at 1.1, and it was a bad year to have the 1.1 without a marquee attacking signing joining the PL. I swapped between the two, and it normally felt like I started the wrong group.

DEF:

Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea) - 146 (DEF6)
Benjamin Chilwell (Leicester City) - 110 (DEF20)
Lewis Dunk (Brighton) - 87 (DEF31)
Conor Coady (Wolverhampton) - 87 (DEF37)
Christopher Schindler (Huddersfield) - 72 (DEF54)

I spent the 40th pick on Cesar, and he was the third defender off the board. With a DEF6 finish, I cannot complain about the return. However, I failed to surround him with any top talent as half my defense was replacement level. This was a weak point on the squad.

MID:

Leroy Sane (Manchester City) - 155 (MID10)
Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur) - 152 (MID11)
Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) - 149 (MID14)
David Silva (Manchester City) - 132 (MID17)
Anthony Martial (Manchester United) - 121 (MID22)

I highly regret passing on Raheem Sterling with his 226 points, but there was uncertainty about his role and future with Man City at the time of that draft. Those extra 71 or 74 points over Sane or Eriksen could have been a few wins, but I still would have well short of the true contenders. My best strategy was loading up on the Man City midfield. I spent a 1 on Sane, 3 on David Silva, and a 10 on Bernardo Silva (STEAL!). Even with playing time question marks, I figured at least one or two would always get in the league's most potent attack.

FWD:

Callum Wilson (Bournemouth) - 164 (FWD6)
Ayoze Perez (Newcastle United) - 132 (FWD10)
Ashley Barnes (Burnley) - 115 (FWD16)
Glenn Murray (Brighton) - 114 (FWD18)

If Bernardo was not my best, then it had to be Callum Wilson. Good forwards are far and few between in this fantasy league, and it felt great to get a near-elite option in round 12. Ayoze Perez came on hot as the season ended, and he posted a top 10 finish at the position.

TYFYS MVP's:

Bernardo Silva and Callum Wilson

Overall:

Like I opened with, this was a good, but not great squad. I am probably an average at best manager as I do not watch nearly enough soccer or make enough transactions. That being said, I am happy to finish with a +8 Total Margin (Total PF - Total PA). Also, I dropped a killer 108, and no one else even reached 90 at any point.

Even without a title, I truly enjoy maintaining this league and seeing the continuity each year. Maybe, I will lift the trophy one day.

With his week 36 win over Shark City by the score of 79-43, DB10_AFC has officially won the league. He is the second club to win two titles along with The Mick.
