Arsenal sign defender William Saliba from Saint-Etienne.
He will be loaned back to Saint-Etienne for the season. He signed a 5 year deal.

I’m sure it is part of the agreement but I don’t understand paying 30 million for someone then loaning them out if they are in a position of need. If this was a young winger or forward I would understand.

We are only paying like 5 million euros this year for him. We pay the rest later.

quote:From what I've read, he also wanted to return to Saint Etienne to get more starts/first team minutes and gain experience this season. He's just 18 years old and only played 1546 minutes last season (19 games total). If he blows up this season, his price could have risen to 50m+. The only way Saint Etienne would sell this season is if they were able to retain him on loan. Now we just have to hope he pans out.

The defense is definitely trash.

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Lille to sign Ivory Coast winger Nicolas Pepe for ~€80m, paid by instalments to fit #AFC budget. 5yr deal, agent agreement still needed but set to be closed in next 24/48hrs. Napoli also have agreement with #LOSC but agent rejected proposal

Woah
So I guess they are just waiting for the player to agree? I really hope this happens. Doing some good business if true.

It's from Ornstein. It's true.

Guess we are going with the game plan of "if you can't play defense, just outscore them"
Posted on 7/27/19 at 11:05 am to DB10_AFC
Wow!!!! That is awesome news. Kind of confused however because we could have gotten Malcolm or another quality winger for less, and added a CB. Maybe we can get one on loan or for a free? Any quality free transfers left?

We can raise funds by selling some players. Like Mustafi, Elneny, and Mhkitarayan for example. We will probably won't get as much as we would like for these guys but something is better than nothing. Plus we get rid of their wages.

Need to sort out wages I agree.. I think we have to keep Mustafi just bc we lack enough CB’s. Wouldn’t mind seeing the other two sold. Any updates on Kosc?
