If we can play a little defense we should be good to go.

Arsenal hasn't had a dribbler since Cazorla and Wilshere. Pepe will really help in that regard. Iwobi is, but not as consistent as the others.

Ceballos can give us that in the midfield. Beat a defender and find a pass.

Would love to see him push xhaka out and go with Ceballos torriera pivot and either put ozil in a 4-2-1-3 type or put guendouzi in and do a 4-3-3.

I see us playing Laca as the striker with Auba on the left and Pepe on the right. I really hope Guendouzi can keep improving and push Xhaka to the bench. I could see Ceballos in the #10 role against the tougher opposition with Torriera and Xhaka/Guendouzi in behind. Against teams we that expect to dominate possession against Ozil could slot in the #10 role. We have options now in midfield and it could take a few matches to find the right combination. Hopefully Emery finds it quick because the schedule is not very kind to us early on.

Not only excited for Pepe but also Martinelli has looked pretty good so far. Tell you what tho Nacho Montreal looks terrible so far this preseason. I think the plan was to patch up a CB position next to Sokartis till Holding comes back using Kosc/Chambers/frick Head. I still wonder what will come of the Kosc situation. Really need a LB and a left footed CB. I don’t see where Kola fits in if we get Tierney. Really hope we get him.

I’ll start a new season thread this weekend if nobody else wants to.

Kosc is gone, or at least I hope so. Monreal can still play against some teams in a 4. But yeah, any of the teams with speed on the rt will frick us.

Maybe the hope is to just press more and just outscore teams.

Also why I'd like to move away from xhaka. When he makes a mistake, we get punished. It isn't that often, but I watch him struggle to get back and defend. He makes stupid little fouls because he can't keep up. I saw him with some of the little tug backs in preseason, same that got him the pk against Brighton.

I think guendouzi still has a lot to learn, but he doesn't struggle to get around the pitch. He came in after not being with the team and looked better against Lyon.

Xhaka had the most mistakes leading to a goal in the entire league last year. Never lived up to the hype. Need a replacement sooner rather than later.

guendouzi Is easily that guy you hate if he’s not on your team lol

Also sort of disappointed we’re doing the 5 man captain thing again. Xhaka would be a good captain I think if he was a better player.

xhaka, kolasinic, mustafi, sokratis, holden all lack quickness, dribbling, and pace.

can always count on a few wtf moments in each game with this group

is mavrapanos ever going to get PT or is he still being groomed?

still cant believe Pepe is a gunner
