We proved how poorly coached Kai was at Chelsea, let's hope Noni is the same

Holy fricking overpay for Madueke…. Feel like we have a Chelsea mole in the administration.
ETA: 50 million initial bid

It’s probably 40 with 10 in add ons.
I doubt we started with 50 upfront.
We’ve got Chelsea in a pickle anyway, they’ve got like 8 wingers on the books and no where to play them. They’ve got to sell like $170M of “UEFA A List” players to meet UEFA guidelines. More of a market opportunity than anything.
His underlying numbers are good, great at carrying the ball and generating shots in the box. We need more of that.
All that being said, if this deal prevents us from going after Eze or Rodrygo I’m against it. If we sign those AND Noni, you’ve got real attacking depth for the first time under Arteta

My exact thoughts too

Norgaard official. 10+2

Fab just tweeted out that RM is open to letting Rodrygo leave.
I think I'd rather Eze+Madueke over just Rodrygo, but I'll take either at this point lol

Guessing the plan is to get Noni & Eze locked up, see how much you can get for Nelson, Viera, Zinny, Trossard, etc, then try for Rodrygo later in the window.

I feel like he will be able to move around the pitch better than jorginho.

No question, plus he's a much bigger and physical player. Just a better athlete.

Man, forest missed out on CL and have gotten raided. They are gonna have a rough go of it next year.
Elanga gone to NU, MGW off to Spurs

Genuinely hilarious that every single CL PL team has signed an attacker this window except for us

Don’t like the fee if it prohibits us from making the other moves

The guy his fast but he’s almost like out of control fast at times.
And he’s better on the right wing so this doesn’t solve the left side problem.

I have to assume they are still planning on one of Rodrygo or Eze. My hope is both, but we’ll see
He’s more than adequate cover if the plan is to play Saka less this year, and/or play Saka on the LW or more centrally at times.
Kinda like PSG with Kvara/Dembele/Doue and just let them be fluid. You could play Martinelli/Saka/Madueke similarly

Honestly im cool with the move. I do wish the fee was lower but it’s whatever. Hopefully he can come in and perform on the right to give Saka some much needed rest and rotation, especially against smaller sides

What would be the reaction if we didn’t sign a CF but got Noni, Rodrygo and Eze this window?
Posted on 7/10/25 at 5:57 pm to texastiger38
I’d be pissed we were quibbling over 3-5 mil for Gyokeres and signed Madueke.
I mean we essentially refuse to pay the fee for either of our striker targets but walk up to Chelsea and just hand them 50m?
It makes no sense. Unless we make the other signings but I don’t know that we will.

I would 10000% be ok with Eze + Gyo and no rodrygo. Even as a Brasil fan I’ve never been insanely excited by him. There’s a good player there but I’d rather get someone cheaper to rotate with Martinelli.

I’m assuming the fee we are paying him is low up front, and generally I think they all are with Chelsea, which is why we do deals quick with them.
Sporting is trying to make an upfront nut on Gyorkeres. I’m confident that deal gets done still.
I just hope we can get an Eze or Rodrygo to go along with it. The more attackers we sign with different skill sets the better. The squad need to be able to adapt to game state better. Additionally I’d hope that Arteta will be more willing to sub guys on earlier instead of waiting until the 80’ because our squad players are such a drop off
