eh i don't care for either team or player but it was a clear foul. maybe if robben wasn't such a bitch all the time, he wouldn't inspire that kind of reaction? just a thought.

Yea, definite card imo. Schweinsteiger didn't even get the ball. Can't go through a player, not win the ball, and not get punished. Yes Rooney embellished, but Scweinsteiger's legs end up as high as Rooney's knees..where is he supposed to go?

yeah, i don't see that. he's coming in from the side and gets the ball. he doesn't go through or follow through. maybe if he was in front and slid like that coming into Rooney it'd be one thing but that type of play happens weekly and it's rarely even called a foul, much less a card. if coming in from the side, winning the ball with a slide tackle, and the attacking player hits/is forced to jump over defensive player is a foul/card, arsenal should be getting a lot more penalties than they do.

Yeah, it was in quotation marks for a reason. Wayne Rooney certainly played a part in it.

Best acting job of the match doesn't go to Robben, but Rooney instead...
Still, Bastian has to know he can't go in that aggressively with a yellow already...you're just asking for it.
Javi got his yellow on a calculated risk when he slipped as the last line of defense with Chicharito racing toward Neuer.
That may have been the go-ahead goal, prevented by Martinez's card...it looked like it was too early to tell if Rooney could have done the same on the Schweiny play
