On top of the fact he's potentially a great player he was also homegrown which helps tremendously for EPL and Champions League spots.
Bamford, Brown and Solanke are going to be good players but none of them have Lukaku's physical attributes.

I'd just like to know the real story of why he never played for us. We've all read stuff but I would just like to see someone come out and really say what was going on. Getting 28 million is a pretty good haul. I guess the question now is are we rolling with Costa, Drogs and Torres? Or does Mou have something else up his sleeve?

I read a couple of things tonight from the Chelsea "beat writer" and he, like Neal Barnett, said this was a long time coming. Mou said that he wanted to be guaranteed first choice striker and when he was told no, he wanted to pursue better opportunities. There had been some rumors that he didn't work hard in training. I really don't know how it would make any sense to sell Lukaku if he was wanted in the locker room. But who knows, he's gone and we made some money. Hopefully Costa doesn't get hurt.

Any chance Oscar gets time up top. He fell off big time as the season progressed last season. Maybe what Mou saw in the World Cup will get him a look. Just a possible option.

We need another striker on the roster... Torres doesn't even count in my mind.
