Let's not forget set pieces. The height advantage and quickness to the ball would be overwhelming for any male team.

if a defender plays 1-2 steps too far up she'll get burnt like a motherfricker and you'll have 1 on 1 (possibly 2 on 1)
you're assuming the best women's players in the world are just going to 'be out of position' one, and two that these guys will have the technical ability to work and finish a 1-1 or 2-1 situation?
It feels like you've never watched HS soccer before. Like most HS sports, it's really really shitty, when you compare it to anything at a higher level.

I'm pretty sure the soccer team from my high school back when I went would have got beaten very easily by a women's WC team.
and i am positive mine could have beaten them, but we had a pretty good squad my senior year
we lost to jesuit or BM i nthe semis

i don't see how the women could do ANY damage in the air

and I feel like you're making your argument based on a Women's team comprised of all our moms.

i've said the success rate of connecting will be low. i'm not talking about a consistent threat during the game

i'd assume most average players are capable of this

Timing and lack of high schooler's knowing how to challenge at that level. All it takes is one free attacker to score and one high school junior to forget to track that run.
Though, this would be far from the easiest way for the women to score.

So, I imagine my high school's team, who I think won about 3 games, if that, the year I graduated, would look pretty bad.

i might start twitter stalking people with this question to get some answers

Slow thinks Jesuit High's bunker would be as quality as Manchester United and thus unbreakable.
I'm saying there would be lots of defensive bodies around the 18, but not world class intelligence defending.
Jesuit gets carved up. Combination play at the top of the box moves the bunker left and right; up and down and because Jesuit isn't world class defensively, they start to show gaps. One gap is exposed, ball slipped in and girl shoots a rocket the high school keeper can't get to. Jesuit down a goal, can no longer bunker and is really fricked.

i just don't think a group of 5-3 and 5-4 girls who can't jump is goin to be much of a threat in the air

in the defense i laid out, there isn't much movement like this possible (esp up)

Gmorgan, 2009-2010 Jesuit High who was a legit national #1 beating Florida's best and carrying 31 club players on their varsity squad would be carved up.
No way.

Cool Slow. I'm done discussing this one.
You are very ignorant tactically though. You can coach your backline to sit on their PK spot - which is a joke btw - but when they see that play around the top of the box you can't call a timeout when they step up and get tired of the ball getting dangled in front of them.
Good luck with that 60 yard long ball hit by a high school backline on a dime perfectly placed to a streaking forward against a highly tactically capable back line.
I'll live in the reality of the game.
Peace out yall.

Can somebody setup a match between Team USA and Jesuit High to settle this?
Posted on 6/26/11 at 9:56 pm to glassman
Yes, way. Beat Florida and Texas' best high school teams.

I have both. But another salesman is always welcome. The wing play from a school like Jesuit would totally dismantle a womans team. It wouldn't even be close. The speed factor would be overwhelming.

Jesuit wouldn't need a high bunker. They would destroy a woman's team in regular play.
