Immigrants play an immigrant sport. Also Robert Pires, Michel Platini, and Jean Tigana aren't really Frenchmen.

I don’t know. Do you give America’s gold medals in basketball and track to Africa?
No? Didn’t think so.
It’s not about race, no matter which way you try and spin it. It’s about being a native to your country and not “representing” them because they happen to be better, in a footballing sense, than your home/birth country.

wtf is wrong with you people
People being born in France and people immigrating over at a young age means (guess what dipshit) that they’re French.

What about Lucas Hernandez? Do you consider him French?
And most moved to France because France was the colonial empire that invited them. Algeria was considered a part of Metropolitan France. So are Guadalupe, Corsica, Martinique and other colonial possessions. They didn't move just to give birth.

Just two I think. Umtiti, who moved when he was two, and Steve Mandanda, who moved when he was a teenager.

Unless your name is Running Horse or Squatting Bear you aren’t a real American either
Our sports national teams have less “true countrymen” than any other in the world

So who is this douche nozzle frenchman on fox saying that he was disappointed in the way France played, and that "they need to step up and play real football"?
Dude. Your national team just won the most prized trophy in all of team sports. Relaxez fricking vous.

What about Platini? Or Robert Pires? Or Luis Fernandez? Or Thierry Henry? Patrick Vieira? fricking Zidane of all people?
France has a long tradition of immigrant footballers. I don't know why that is all that controversial. France has done a better job of training their immigrant population than other countries, with a youth system they put in place. Mbappe's parents, a Cameroonian father and Algerian mother, didn't move to France specifically to give birth to him. They simply happened to be in France when they met, because France is a cosmopolitan country, regardless of how you feel about it. Suggesting these people moved specifically to give birth is a retarded notion.
