How do people in London pick their favorite team?

There are 10+ clubs in London. Are you born into it depending on what neighborhood and what team your parents / family are for?

Yes, being born into is a thing. I felt the same with college football. LSU was always the team. Same with Saints, but my fandom of the nfl has diminished.
Now I’m a Braves fan because they were so good when I lived there and never had a team geographically before that.
As far as the low level teams over there, they don’t have the college athletics, and people like the smaller clubs because there is less commercialization. It’s the same way you see huge support for like a miss state.
Are they ever going to really win the sec? Prob not, neither will ole miss.
And geographically things are diff. Again miss state is like our closest foe. We don’t feel like that’s far, but for people in England that’s like going to France.

They typically decide if they want to support Millwall or if they want to be gay. Those are your options.

It’s solely where you live. However, the English support their club regardless of size. Not like over here where you’ll have a die-hard LSU fan in Thibodaux with Nicholls right down the street. If the club from your town plays in the National league, then that’s who you support.

Tottenham was the closest EPL team to where I lived, so Spurs chose me. But Cambridge FC was my local.

The interesting one is Liverpool or Everton

Being born into it or your neighborhood
Like in North London there is a distinct line b/w Arsenal and Spurs

The U's!!!!!
Up the Posh!!!
I went to my fair share of both. Cambridge ground is kind of a pain in the arse to get to from the city centre and high street. Actually a shite walk back to the train station
Peterborough is much better, easy walk from the station and then right back to the bars and nightlife

So many great memories.
Yes, and it can be, but luckily everywhere is a 15-20 min walk from city centre. I only lived a mile away.

We’re you at Mildenhall or Lakenheath?

Got it. No reason to go into Huntingdon. Although my son was born at Hitchingbrooke.

Right but if they’re in the 5th tier but the town produces a great player who’s in the Premier League, do you think they’re really that pissed that he isn’t on the 5th tier team? Let’s be real here.
Let’s say that player is in the Champions League final for someone. They’re watching. The rivalries (and hate) are usually in practice for your tier and the one above and the one below.

That map is pretty good, even if it's been 12 years, now. Excellent to see AFC Wimbledon on it.
