If that's why he chooses to switch, then that's fricking petty and immature. I highly doubt that had a lot of influence on his decision.

He had something going on I believe with his club. I think the Liga MX playoffs

I believe that was the official reason from USMNT. Who knows, maybe this guy wanted to play for Mexico and it was easier to blame it on USMNT than to just choose Mexico.

He’s 19 and missed one call up that he could have conceivably been called up for. If he really gets his panties in a wad and switches because of a friendly then he needs to grow a pair.

If he is an extremely competitive A type guy, I wouldn't say its immature. More of an over reaction but that's just how A types are.

Not being able to objectively look at it would be immature and petty. Nothing to do with type A bullshite.

I’m so tired of this shite happening. We should make every single youth player who grows up in the American system sign a contract that if they ever play for another country, we get financial compensation.

He just played us and took away resources that could have gone towards developing American kids, only to switch to our biggest rivals.

Revoke his citizenship. Obviously being Mexican means more to him. This is different from someone like Steven Beitashour playing for Iran. This is a kid that grew up in our system and played for our youth national teams before defecting.

This guy looked at the upcoming talent of the US and decided to take his chances with the enemy.

If we didn’t suck arse then I’d maybe be melting also. But since we are horrible, I don’t blame the kid.

More likely that the looked at how broken our federation is and decided that he didn't want to commit to the unknown.

Well, we have to do something.

This shite keeps happening. And this time it’s a player that looks like he’ll be good for the next 10-12 years or so for Mexico.

I get that some unfortunate timing prevented us from cap-tying him like we wanted. All I’m saying is US Soccer needs to make sure all the kids that make the youth national teams are committed to playing for the US or their development stops immediately. We shouldn’t be wasting resources on developing other countries’ players when we can barely field a competent starting XI at the moment.

We are complaining about a guy that obviously didn't want to play for the US a hole lot anyway.

He MAY be really good...maybe.

He may also move to a mid level europe team and be soon forgotten and buried on mexico's bench by the next hot something that whatever MX league team comes up with.

Mexico have had better players than him before and we've beaten them, so lets calm down for a second.

Also got some guys like Chris Durkin who are on the verge of breaking into the professional game.

came away from WC most impressed with him. hopefully he works out. wish he would have signed with a european club instead of DC though.
