well frick if true. they don't even have a manager.

eta: i hate transfer season. same shite as last year. we're on the verge of making a signing, and somebody else gets him. i'm just going to not pay any attention this summer. I'll find out who we settle for in August.

I may have missed it somewhere in this thread, but can someone give me a rundown of Rodgers' style of play and what we can expect? I didn't watch much of Swansea this season.

I read those last night and found them to be generally very informative.

Won't happen. He's too attached to Rodgers.

Also rumors this morning of Suarez likely headed out, and Klaas Jan Huntelaar in.

As I said earlier, I don't know what to make of any of these 'rumors', but that would definitely suck for those who bought a brand new Suarez warrior kit. And I reckon its a lot of folks.

That is exactly the reason I only buy national team, retro/historic or non-player specific jerseys.

From ThisIsAnfield.com...
quote:

Liverpool appear to have lost out in the battle to sign Glyfi Sigurdsson, with the Icelandic midfielder instead joining Spurs.

Various reports in Germany claim a deal has been done between Hoffenheim and Tottenham – despite the London club not currently having a manager.

BBC Sport journalist Ben Smith wrote on twitter this morning “Hoffenheim had an agent in England yesterday, he flew back to Germany pm. If a deal has been done, almost certain it’s not LFC.”

Up until now, a deal with Liverpool appeared to be a formality, with Sigurdsson’s strong relationship with Brendan Rodgers a huge lure for the player who spent last season on loan at Swansea with Rodgers. However, it now seems Spurs have outbid Liverpool and offered the player a better deal.

If indeed these reports are confirmed, and it looks like they will, it is a bitter blow to Rodgers’ summer signing plans.

The fee for Sigurdsson is around 10m euros.

I don't understand this at all. Spurs don't even have a manager and if they wanted him so bad why didn't they go after him earlier.

I believe the whole Modric to RM is what got all this started. But as with all transfer rumors, nothing is real until you see them posing in front of a camera holding a new shirt.

Sounds like a bidding war. I don't want to overpay for this guy, but on the other hand I feel we really need a guy like him to smoothen the transition. Fact is none of us really have a clue how Rodgers will assess our current squad.

Sucks but oh well. After last season, FSG doesn't want to overpay for players. Gotta trust them if they choose to not match Tottenham's bid.
