Watching the new Paul McCartney doc......not that good.....
Thanks for the heads up.. I recently listened to the new audible book about Wings and was kind of disappointed... not bad, but not great..
Currently listening to Damien Jurado... This one could have gone in the cheating thread..
And this is a fun one...

I dont really have a favorite year, but I'll take the OPs year of 1987 (no order)..
Dinosaur Jr. - Little Fury Things
Sonic Youth - Schizophrenia
The Replacements - Can't Hardly Wait
Stone Roses - Sally Cinnamon
The Pogues - Fairytale of New York
I'm probably forgetting a bunch that may bump one of these..

Pretty much all my favorite bands are not well known.
Same... it was probably more so the case in the 80s and early 90s.. the internet has somewhat changed that.. Now days everything is so much more available to people if they want to look for it.. Back then you had to go digging in record bins, catch live shows, meet people with similar taste, have access to a good college radio station, etc...
Still very few bands I like are household names...
quote:That late 80s/early 90s Louisville scene was pretty fertile with many good bands, that are mostly unknown to most..
King Kong
Buckler's other band, Slint, is definitely more well known than King Kong... but still relatively obscure...
The Squirrel Bait "family tree" is impressive alone... this image below is old and doesn't even account for the Breeders/Lemonheads/Gang of Four, etc...
Rodan, Crain, June of 44 are other really good bands that came out Louisville at that time, too..

There are a ton of bands I dislike.. but for the purposes of this thread, I'll never know if I like or dislike this dudes music because I just can't get past this and take it seriously...

Sushi lovers — at what point did you become a sushi snob
Ive gotten to the point now where I only go to the spots that have better fish and dont bother with the rest... I used to pop in somewhere and get a couple of rolls or whatever for a quick lunch.. not so much the last 10 years or so...
My sushi intake has gone down quite a bit.. and I'm good with that!
This can't be real...
