I've been pushed in the back on the pitch before. Obviously not by some as strong as vvd but I think it's naive to think Ramos didn't completely embellish his fall. He knew that he was doing.

so he embellished his fall into a flying elbow

come on man

I find it insane how all Pool fans were telling City to get over shite refereeing in their tie, yet here you all are - complaining about Ramos getting bombarded by one of your own into your keeper like he masterminded 9/11.

Yes. That is precisely my take. He jumped more than was necessary too.

They weren’t until Salah went off. First 20 minutes were all Liverpool

He’d defend Hitler if Liverpool were a Jewish club. There isn’t a poster on this board more eaten up with a rival

Maybe if Liverpool had a GK you would have won the UCL after all the times you slate United with DDG

Also i dont think you really understand how the United/Liverpool works if you think im eaten up by it. I'm actually pretty tame.

No arguments here. I’d be thrilled to have De Gea

You have got to be kidding me. I've never seen a rival fan base suck off another's player as much as Liverpool fans adore DDG. The guy is an absolute legend, and we almost unanimously agree he's the best GK in the world right now.

i was responding to him, not Liverpool fans as a fan base.

He would literally say United are so fricked without DDG over and over.

I guess he forgot GK is part of the game

dammit i had my eyes off the tv typing this shite and the caps scored

This was always Zizou’s plan, partly because he knew he couldn’t stop the high press early on.

Let Liverpool play their game, if they survive the first 30 minutes it was essentially a win.

For Salah to be injured and leave the pitch?

No, but he knew Liverpool would go all out while fresh early in the match.

No team can keep up that intensity for a full 90. You absorb it and then hit back when they tire. Madrid defended fantastically that first 30 minutes.

I think more than anything Liverpool collapsed once Mo went off. It was a sign of a mentally weak team, one that we thought we had buried a long time ago. We certainly were at a disadvantage once we no longer had Mo to stretch the field when we won the ball on the press, but more than anything we hung our head and felt sorry for ourselves. We did a great job after halftime and came out looking just like we did when we started, but then Karius herp derped his way into history and we went back to sulking.

The team still needs to work on its mental fortitude.

They certainly did. A lot of last ditch blocks to save goals. A shame we didn't get to see Mo for 90. What could have been....

No one pretends we can sustain it. We never have all season.

But just like the City games, Salah and Mane's speed helped us release on the counter so well. We had Lallana to do that job in this game and he's just too slow. No way to relieve the pressure, no way to keep Madrid honest.
