Sell list

I've heard Pep likes Navas but I'd sell him back to Sevilla for a bowl of Paella.

Otamendi
Mangala

I think you have to keep at least one because you'd take too big a loss on selling both now.

Appreciate it BM. This season has been a tough one. I've missed almost every CL match due to a rigid work schedule and I feel like we have had an inordinate amount of Sunday games which screw with getting my Church on. Luckily, there haven't been that many great performances to enjoy.

Watched the whole Southampton game on Sunday and it was like watching a "legends" match. What a pathetic showing. I watched about 35 minutes of last nights and I'm appalled that we are so bad going forward without Silva.

Silva and Kompany's continued injury problems, along with Aguero's slowing of pace, show that we must find competent replacements. DeBruyne and Sterling will work out imo, Inheanacho is a great forward, but the back is so weak. We overpaid for crap and it's biting us in the butt. We've gotten much worse on the wing which seems to be overlooked a lot. When Zaba, Kolorav, Richards, and Sagna/Clichy were at their peak, it made Kompany/CB look better because they weren't having to defend so much one on one. Look for us to buy a few defenders (3-4). We need another Aguero/Tevez. Inheanacho is not in that vein. He's an upgraded Dzeko.

I'm also hoping we bring up some of the EDS. The big CB who played in the FA Cup against Chelsea will be great. Also, we have midfielders there who can make an impact. I'm excited to see who we purchase and who we promote.

This is also a "kit-year" for me, so I'll be buying the new one. Who should I get? I burned my old Adam Johnson jersey quietly btw.

Super unpopular alternative coming. Keep both, sell Kompany. He's 30. He's either a terrible captain or a great captain that nobody follows based on how the team doesn't even try half the time. He's always injured. Think about how much time Aguero has missed in recent years with injuries... Kompany has missed more time and games.

Both Mangala and Otamendi were great defenders in non-Pellegrini systems. I think they still can be. The CBs were fine last night anyway. We have far too many needs in other areas to spend even more on CBs.

I've been hearing this alot and wouldn't really be bothered. Love him to death but I can't disagree with you.
To answer your statement about captain: Yaya Toure and Kolorav have been captain most of the time when Kompany has been hurt. I can't think of two worse candidates.

I have no problem with this.

Otamendi isn't bad at all. He's a CB that isn't going to sit back and likes to attack offensive players and keep them under pressure, he's good some days and bad others. He wasn't the issue yesterday and played pretty well.

Mangala has looked like a future top CB in the league at moments and this looked like dog shite at others. I don't think he's gotten enough time yet to make a rash decision and sell.

Like Jturn said, Kompany is just not good for us anymore. I love him to death, but the guy just cannot stay healthy. He's our rock back there, but what's the point of having a rock solid player if he can't stay fit for more 3-4 consecutive games and is on the wrong side of 30.

Dat hairline though.

Remember when we had Jerome Boateng? I'd really rather not let a young CB slip through our grasps again.

ETA: Regarding kits, an Aguero on is never a bad one to have. I have two of those. I stupidly impulsed a Sterling one this year, won't make that mistake again. I'm definitely buying a De Bruyne jersey for next year.

It's awful. To me, it's been apparent for a couple years now that Yaya is the leader of the team. They've completely taken on his attitude. Kompany was the captain yesterday, and the team still came out and played like it was a friendly.

The other issue with the team is we have a lot of parts now that don't fit together. KDB, Silva, and Yaya can't play together, and I'm not really sure you should play two of them together. Next season I'd prefer running Sterling/KDB/NewPlayer in the AM 3. There's just no space in the team for Silva, and I doubt he's willing to be a squad player for City.

I really do think this is the Summer to sell a lot of the old core players and start a new era.

My sell list since we're doing this:
Zaba
Kolarov
Yaya
Silva
Bony

Then one or two of: Fernando, Delph, Nasri, or Kompany.

Though I feel like I'm playing Football Manager a bit with this list.

He wasn't terrible earlier on, actually showed some glimpses, but hasn't done shite since coming back from injury.

I know he hasn't shown any wear yet really, but Fernandinho turned 31 yesterday. How much longer does he have?

Hopefully infinity time because I heart him so. I'd a team full of Fernandinhos if I could. He's the one guy in the team that comes to play every game, no matter the opponent.

Don't understand how he doesn't get the Captain's band. I love him so much. Him or DeBruyne are my next jersey no doubt.

I love him too, but I'd have to assume and would be all for the captain band going to Hart.

Keeper should not have the band, especially with this bunch. We need a leader in the back or in midfield

The City Watch podcast absolutely destroys the team, and I have to say it's 100% deserved. They might have been too easy on them.

I was wondering the same. I watched an interview about an hour ago. It seemed really good, but that was my best guess as well.

If you want to see just how shitty the team played, go watch Hart's interview after the game.

It kind of caught me off guard but he even says, "Kun introduced himself in the 88th minute".

Just caught me off guard.
