He would be great at the false 9 role, but the set-up is bad. He needs willing runners, and someone to support him from deep. Mount goes wide which gives Sterling the ability to move central, but Mount or another mid getting closer and playing with Kane should bring the Danes infield.
Usually it isn't a good sign when your striker drops that deep, especially if there is a playmaker with him.

He was shielded by the Denmark wall so he was just a fraction late reacting and it was very well struck. Let’s not act like that was an easy save. He certainly COULD have saved it though.
