UEFA - Matchday 8 of 10
Group A
Belarus - Sweden, 11 a.m. (ESPN3)
Netherlands - Bulgaria, 11 a.m. (ESPN2)
France - Luxembourg, 1:45 p.m. (FS+)

Though France are only three points clear of Sweden, they are in the driver's seat and have an easy three points today against Luxembourg. Netherlands and Bulgaria will be after a victory as they look to stay in touch with Sweden for second place.

Group B
Faroe Islands - Andorra, 11 a.m. (ESPN3)
Hungary - Portugal, 1:45 p.m. (FS2)
Latvia - Switzerland, 1:45 p.m. (ESPN3)

Portugal's biggest remaining test ahead of a rematch against Switzerland is today against Hungary. Switzerland looking to make it a perfect eight wins from eight on a trip to Latvia.

Group H
Estonia - Cyprus, 11 a.m. (FS2)
Gibraltar - Bosnia-Herzegovina, 1:45 p.m. (FS Match Pass)
Greece - Belgium, 1:45 p.m. (ESPN3)

Belgium can become the first European team to qualify for Russia with a victory today in Greece. If that occurs, Bosnia look set to overtake the Greeks for second place as they face Gibraltar.

Mikael Lustig is Sweden's best player this qualifying campaign.

the Dutch are seriously on the brink of not qualifying for the World Cup?

am I the only 1 who would think that as a much bigger surprise than the US not coming out of CONCACAF?

You shouldn't be surprised in the slightest. The Dutch failed to qualify for the Euros even though that tournament expanded to 24 teams.

There is a serious dearth of talent in the Dutch ranks right now.

Lack of talent coupled with a massively inept FA and coaching setup at the national level for the last few cycles. It took them forever to even call up Virgil, for example, despite their defense being horrendous.

He hasn't done much this match. And now he plays club football in UAE so he's definitely peaked and headed down.
