I think a big thing that drew Pep to City is that they aren't a top tier club competitively, at least as of yet. The resources to become one are certainly at the club and if he lifts City to that level then it will have been him that did it. He could literally become the club's legendary manager.
They are most definitely a top tier club in terms of literally everything except history. They made the semis of the Champions League last year and have won 2 Premier League titles in the last few years. Most importantly, they have the money and the right manager now to win everything.

Before at Barca and at Bayern he was just another manager. Others had won the UCL and pretty much won everything else.
Dude, he was hardly just another manager. He was the most high profile, in demand manager in soccer (maybe in all of sports) before he went to Bayern and once again when he decided to leave.

Eh...City is still a "new money" club on the global stage. They're making all the right moves to make the next steps but we're still the "noisy neighbors".

No doubt he was/is the shite, he wasn't as revered as he is at City. Khaldoon and Txiki are working for him pretty much. I won't deny that we're paying him handsomely, but I think 90% of the reason he came to City is the control. He has absolute and total control of the club. As amazing as he is, he didn't have that at Bayern.

And made Bayern worse.
