Guimarães with the brace and Newcastle picks up another big three points. All but assured to not stumble with six matches remaining.

We're safe now. I wonder if the ASM possibly being sold rumors are true. I would rather see us keep him. He's a great player and someone we can build around. He would be hard to replace.

I think he has peaked. He’s become semi predictable. But he is a great player. Bruno is a star. They need to build around him.

I love ASM but he’s limited

They probably won’t sell him though just because there are so many glaring holes that need to be addressed and I don’t think they’re going to want to turn the roster over too much in one window.

Almiron with the winner to get the 40 points.

Joelinton sitting at 2 goals. Doesn't look like he's going to get double digits this year.

Six straight wins at home seems unimaginable considering that three of the teams are higher up on the table.

Howay The Lads! Up the table we go!

Joelinton gets himself a brace. Best Bruno continues to be magnificent.

I don't expect the Magpies to stay in the top half of the table but hot damn to be where they are with four to play is unbelievable.

Oh, and-

Somehow, NUFC finished middle of the table for another year.

21-22 leading goalscorer was Callum Wilson with 8, followed by ASM and Bruno Guimarães with five each. ASM also provided the most assists for the Magpies with 5. There were a total of 8 clean sheets, with seven(!) coming in the second half of the season.

Highlights:
Mike Ashley gone
Steve Bruce gone
Eddie Howe, Welcome! We hope you stay a while.
Joelinton 4 goals but looking like his spot is found in the pitch (for now).

Expectations for next year is to battle for random midweek nights in Eastern Europe for 23-24.

Do we land:

Sven Botman?
James Tarkowski?
Hugo Ektike?
Dominic Calvert-Lewen?

Our top two goals should be center back and a center forward/winger. Any two of the above would be a nice boost although we could use a replacement for Shelvey and a new keeper too. I just don't see us having the funds to address four positions right now. Reports of our spending cap 60-80 mil.

Hell yes. Isak is a bid time signing. Would love to see us close w/ an attacking midfielder or rw too. I think Pedro could step into the no. 10 role as attacking midfielder or we could get a connor gallgher or someone on loan.

Fourth place baby! Aston Villa and Southampton both very winnable especially w/ Shelvey coming back.
