They dive when we want, they dive when they want. They're Man United, they dive when they want.

Again, we've only beaten United around 12 times in my lifetime, so I'll take what I can get.

My point is this: I understand the hate, and I understand that success will always put them on that podium, just like the Patriots and John Stamos. When you're one of the best, people either want to be you or beat you. That said, United is hated for success, but I hardly think you can say they just went out one day and bought it. I'd really love to see better mid-table academies so more parity in the EPL, if anything, so United can get credit for earning titles instead or people just expecting it.
If you want to be a fan thats fine, but most ManU fans refuse to admit that they specifically chose them because of the prolonged success they had in the past 2 decades, when everyone knows that's exactly why they chose them. I would love to see the amount of "fans" that would be around should ManU take a nosedive. My guess is it would be none.
This is by no means an attack at you or other ManU posters as most here have shown knowledge of the game, which I respect. It's just that a majority of the ManU's American fans don't know the history and simply hopped on the bandwagon that while the ride was smooth and they won plenty of trophies.
Everybody's a Lakers fan when they are winning...

Manchester United are £478m in debt
they didn't get there by not spending a shitton, they have the most revenue in the EPL
um they got that way b/c when glazer bought the club he put all his debt on it.
Thats why some fans broke away

Trolllololol.
Seriously give us half the luck with injuries and it wouldn't be a zero.
But that's the game. And I'm fine with how they're doing it.

You can't legitimately chalk up your trophy drought to injuries alone.
You just can't do it.
Or can you? I think you might be.
frick me.

You think it's had nothing to do with Arsenal's recent lack of consistency? Look at City's injury's this year (or lack thereof) and their spot in the table. United has had a few, but their squad is huge/deeper than the average.
No, I'm not saying that's the only reason, but it's a decent part of it.

we just like to buy your fit players.

It's not like Arsenal didn't make finals. We've lost three finals in that time period, all on late goals. In addition, our 2007-08 team is one of the best teams not to win a PL title. Before Eduardo's horrific injury, our record was 19-6-1. We lost only three times that season.
We've had late season injury collapses in 2007, 2009, and 2010. In three of those seasons we've had a player who has been on the end of an awful injury.
We've made the last eight in 12 competitions. All this while building a stadium and staying in the top four.
What's been missing in our run after 2005 is something to push us over that last hurdle, whether it be luck or that extra bit of quality.

Adebayor and Toure were astute buys.
Nasri and Clichy will turn out good, but Nasri can't lead the line. As long as he thinks he is played best through the center, he won't be the player that he can be. He's a wide player in the mold of a Ribery. Clichy is a solid LB who fits in better in a 4-4-2 system than a 4-3-3 system.

The thing that is missing is the little bit of quality. Oh, yeh.. And a new manager imo. I know many of you will disagree.
I guess what I'm saying is that there is a fairly healthy gap b/t the top 2 and the rest.

A net gain in transfer fees for the club while being in champions league football for I think jts 12 years now? In Arsene we trust.
Unless of course you mean a new fitness coach, I'll take that.

Up. Only lost two times. Were way better on their day than United.
Also that Chelsea team for 07-08 was really good.

Nah, he's the reason we're in third place right now. He's done a superb job in my opinion. His biggest problem is that he's stubborn.

What? No there isn't. These things evolve from year to year. This year the top 2 are much better, but that definitely wasn't true in years past, and won't be true in the future.

The thing about United is that they really do well against the mid-table. Some years are better than others against the big clubs, but they are consistently good against competition they should be good against. In recent years, Arsenal, 'Pool, Spurs , Chelsea, and City have hit higher heights than United, but all seem prone to mid-table teams. United don't seem to have that problem as much, hence why they are so successful.
