He wasn't particularly great, but the back four was bad, Howard didn't have a good first half (not his fault though), Donovan disappeared, Jones sucked, Aguedelo sucked, etc.
You have Dempsey, Bradley, and maybe Jozy who did anything of use in the first half.

Jones' laziness and Ream's inexperience cost us the game tonight.
Jones doesn't deserve any more blame than Bocanegra.
Bocanegra played worse today than Bornstein does 95% of the time.

I honestly don't think he was THAT bad, aside from not marking the guy that scored. He won balls in the air, moved up and down the field.
I would have put Bornstein in at the half for Ream, and moved Bocanegra inside.
Panama had FAR too much space to operate on that side of the field.

Rewatch the game and concentrate on what Bocanegra did with the ball high on the pitch.
Actually that'd be far too painful, just take my word for it.
Boca did fine defensively, but the Bornstein for Ream substitution would have made a ton of sense with the way both Boca and Ream were playing.

Overlooked in all of this is that panama is not a bad team... Not your daddy's panama soccer team. I think all but one of their starters plays outside of their league.

Like the Mexican 3rd Division?

So we're down to Panama, and we put in :
Klestan - who has done what exactly for the national team?
Bedoya - who wasn't good enough to make the original 30 man squad
Wondolowski - who's looked like a lost child during his stint
Another great job Bob. That's what I call progression.

Interesting list.
Capello's salary is comical.
Aguirre at 4 million, damn. He isn't in that much demand. New Zealand's coach at 1.2 million is a shocker. The best deals are Low at 2.3 million and Bielsa at 800K. The US coach is 23rd out of 32, but it is interesting to see that Gulati has no salary.

That list depresses me. Who am I kidding, we could never pony up that kind of $.

I think we can get someone for under a million, and there are some good names on there. I am confused how New Zealand got 1.2 million though, and Javier Aguirre's agent is clearly the gold standard in soccer.

To give New Zealand some credit they didn't lose a WC game
Posted on 6/11/11 at 11:12 pm to Keys Open Doors
Oh yeah and the All Blacks head much must make a shite ton of money if the soccer coach makes over a million

Cameroon pays their coach more than we do.
