Basically another we are victims race bating article about us racists Americans.

LINK

quote:

In honor of Black History Month, we had a conversation with a group of black fans in Washington D.C. who are all involved with Guerilla FC, a creative collective of players and fans creating space for those unappreciated by American soccer society.

quote:

"I think the problem is that a lot of the experiences in the game in America have been shaped for people other than black people. I don't think that black people aren't fans, people just aren't finding them.

quote:

“As a black fan, soccer is seen as a white sport, and going to these various communities that wake up at 7:00am for Spurs games, they're definitely more geared towards white people.

Maybe they should go watch the games in Africa or China, much less white people.

If they think we're bad, go to Bermondsey or Eltham and tell your average Millwall fan the same thing. His response will be like the kid in this video:

Weird, because everyone else in America seems to think it’s a Hispanic sport

This pisses me off. I have a friend that teaches in a predominantly black school. He teaches these kids all kinds of sports and they love it, but they tell him they can’t play them in the neighborhood because they’ll get picked on and beat up if older kids or adults see them playing soccer. It’s football, basketball or nothing.
