Seems to be a combo of cordcutting + election + lack of parity

If they had more US players that play, US audience would watch more PL games. I've been enjoying watching the dynamic B. Dortmund team and Pulisic. I watched more PL games when Dempsey was playing.

EPL just isn't that good right now. Terrible atmospheres and boring matches.

Pretty sure a dropoff is to be expected since ratings spiked with Leicester's run last year. People that don't normally watch watched last year. It'll be like people commenting on how far down the ratings for the World Series next year will have dropped from this year. Baseball won't be any more dead/alive than it was this year, just the fact that the Cubs won't be trying to break their championship drought like they were this year.

The election probably did not help either. 2017 ratings will be interesting.

I hope cord cutters don't frick up televised sports. For me, it is usually not worth the risk of quality and frustration to try and watch through a computer.

I've been trying to watch more la liga games, but really just haven't had time since football started. That and my online classes are taking up my Saturday mornings.

Well let's wait and see what happens, if we get a great title chase I bet it picks up.

The "frick You, Its International Break Time" has me losing my care for the Premier League almost every other week.

I can only imagine the ratings West Brom vs. Burnley got on Monday as the featured game. What a matchup!

Lack of parity? This is the most parity of any top league in a long, long time.

Also, I keep seeing the election blamed for ratings losses and obviously there's something to it but why? What about the election is stopping people from watching sports on a Saturday morning?

I fail to see how the election affected ratings on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
