New York City F.C., along with the city, Adidas and the U.S. Soccer Foundation, will build 50 soccer fields in New York City’s five boroughs over the next five years in a $3 million partnership intended to increase participation in the sport and to promote health and social skills among young people in underserved neighborhoods.

NYCFC needs to build their own field first.

This is what it will take to develop a national team.
Suburbia by itself is a fail.

several big soccer dealios going up
St.Louis county, partnered with Scott Gallagher is building a huge complex.
And 1 Youth, soccer org, in outer Burbs is building teams, and has Bayern Munich as a partner.
Only problem, they basically will steal a few kids from football, but unless the Gallagher complex is going to try and bring in inner city kids, bosnians, etc, than it's the same kids from Private and catholic schools. Sure, some really good soccer, especially HS, and really good girls and boys, but if USA needs to get better, need a pool of everyone.

It is easier to build fifty soccer fields for the community than it is to build one for NYCFC.

That's awesome and all but there are already a ton of soccer fields in New York.
