Mainland India has got to be worse.
Qatar is on the Persian Gulf.

I’m not sure how they will handle alcohol for the World Cup. When I was there, you could drink at the hotels or any of the contractor villages, which are basically just apartment complexes with parties every night.

It was pretty rough. Monsoon in August.
Thankfully it relented the next day and held off for most of the trip, but that first day I'll never forget.

I believe they are making alcohol zones.
Money talks and bullshite walks. Always funny to see it in practice

We, Canada, Australia/New Zealand, Western Europe, and East Asia should all refuse to be a part of this, and no Western company should sponsor it. 4,000 people have died to bring you men kicking a ball up and down an open field. Everyone who voted for it should be executed for crimes against humanity. As far as I’m concerned, the next World Cup is in the US. This has a higher death toll than 9/11 from Slave Labor. frick anyone who watches the next World Cup, and I will boycott all of its sponsors.

4,000 dead on slave labor. How much more dirt is necessary than a fricking graveyard of corpses?

Pretty sure the number is 1000 and its simply migrant workers, no way to directly tie it to construction. Making shite up as you go or looking into the future? You're dramatic AF.
Below is from the Washington Post.
Correction: An earlier version of this post, and accompanying graphic, created the impression that more than 1,000 migrant workers in Qatar had died working on 2022 World Cup infrastructure. The post should have made clearer that the figures involved all migrant deaths in Qatar. A report by Qatar’s government found 964 deaths of migrants from India, Nepal and Bangladesh in 2012 and 2013. Other groups have cited a higher number over a longer period of time. A lengthy statement by Qatar’s government said "not a single worker’s life has been lost" in connection with the World Cup construction, while an account by The Guardian linked some deaths to the construction. Ultimately, we are unable to verify how many deaths, if any, are related to World Cup construction. This post and the graphic have been revised to provide a more accurate picture of what’s known and not known.

It’s the projection: Qatar World Cup Construction will leave 4,000 migrant workers dead.

1,000

Regardless of the number, it’s a travesty that Qatar is hosting in 2022. The time of year adds insult to injury.
How FIFA and their cronies got away with it......let me correct that......how they are STILL getting away with it is baffling.

5,190 construction workers were killed on the US on the job in 2016.
Real hot liberal take.

They've been doing it for the better part of 50 years. Why are you surprised?
Naive bunch here..

Oh frick off, you twat. Those men were fricking paid and knew the risks. These people on the other hand were dragged their under false pretenses and enslaved. If you don’t see the difference, you are fricking idiot.
I’d like to reiterate: frick off, you fricking twat.

Find me any of these people who are alive? I’ll be outraged then, but I am not accountable for sins of my ancestors.

Triggered. You going to march in the streets? Your posting on an internet message board is truly making the difference.
$100 says you watch a significant amount of the 2022 WC. Especially if the US manages to qualify.

You wearing Nikes?
You have any Apple products?
Look in the mirror fool.

And where is their proof of them being held against their free will?
If their lives and living conditions weren't shite already to begin with, they wouldn't go in the first place.
Are you outraged at all the other 3rd world places in the world where people die at a much higher clip?

Considering the only WC game I watched was today, I don’t think I’ll have any problem saying “no thanks” to my friends hosting the next WC party.

Why am I surprised? Because we are in 2018, and stadiums are being built with slave labor while back door deals are being made for all of the world to see. Usually, especially with social media today, these stunts are halted pretty quickly.
