In his prime he could easily score 35 in the EPL

The level of defending in La Liga is no where near as good as the prem. Not to mention the quality of teams from top to bottom is better.
The most goals ever scored in one prem season is 31, and its been done only 3 times. To say Messi would break that record with 35 easily is laughable.
