So when the World Cup goes to 40 teams

will it be even harder for us to screw this up? Remember, we haven't exactly blown our way through the pre-hex phases the last two rounds.
Or will Concacaf redo the qualification process?

They basically have to... Pretty sure under the new team numbers CONCACAF gets 6 slots, so the hex would be entirely pointless

The round before the Hex has 12 teams. So, I guess they would have to make a decision if they want to make it a huge group like South America with 12 teams and the top 6 qualify or just leave it as 3 groups of 4 with the top 2 qualifying.
Either way, adding teams to the WC will not help make things more pressurized like most of us want. The US will essentially have 3 games every 4 years that mean anything, which will be the group stages of the WC. The year we cohost with Mexico and Canada will be even worse.
