God I want to love soccer so bad, but it just seems so fricking shady at times.
I have a lot of money on this game and I'm getting absolutely fricking robbed.

WRONG.
Actually, you can't be offside on a corner, a goal kick, or a throw in.
I know, it was off the deflection, though. But just sayin.

I have the FIFA Laws in my hands. A scan is coming shortly.
Verbatim.

A player is in an offside position if: he is nearer to his opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent.

wasnt the US caught by this rule a few years ago? might be thinking of the interference off sides against Italy last WC. maybe it was someone else but i remember not knowing it and being pissed until it was explained.
and yeah how do you not know the rule if your the commentator?

How so? Because Mexico can't finish?

This. Technically everyone is behind the ball on a corner, therefore no offsides.

There's nothing wrong with not knowing the rules, but don't be so insistent if you don't know.

The initial ball in was a corner. Then it was deflected off a header by his teammate to the guy in the offside position. Therefore, offside.

The ball was flicked on off the corner

its only like that on the original kick, you can't stay offsides the rest of the half because you had a fricking corner!
the guy crossed it, then his teammate headed it to a guy in an offsides position

but it was deflected to the guy that scored and he was in an offsides position. good call.

Didn't he say I might be wrong before he said it? LOL at everyone having a bitch fit, even if it had been a bad call it would have been a good call cause it went against the Mexicans.

No, that was a "normal" offside (i.e. the 2nd to last defender was a CB, not the GK). It was upsetting, because the guy in the offside position didn't touch it (it went through his legs), but that technically is offside, because he "intefered with the play" or something.

I don't see why the commentators are harping on Mexico's blown chances.
SA had a few blown chances of their own.

Well, yeah, but that's not what he was called offside for.
