I said that a challenge like that not even close to the ball is what defines the nature/essence of a red card.
If he was anywhwere near the ball with that challenge, fine, but he wasn't even close. This ref has been horrible all around, but that yellow instead of a red showed this ref will not red card anyone. That's why people expecting one are likely kidding themselves.

What a disappointing final match. This whole tournament has been hours upon hours of disappointment and horrible officiating only slightly alleviated by a couple of great moments for the USMNT.

Ironically if he goes down like he does when he's normally breathed on, he gets a foul just outside the 18.
Wouldn't have deserved a card either, despite what others say, but would've been the smart time to flop/dive.

Ummmm... no. At most should've been called for a foul lifting his arm. It wasn't a break away as they were even at the time.

i couldn't tell from the angle but if he was fouled by the last defender its a straight red
