Announcer acting like 7 min is a lot of stoppage when they had like a 7 min var stoppage.

LSU's Alyssa Chapman doesn't give up a goal against the Netherlands for 68 minutes and is taken out. her Michigan Jayde Riviere replacement gives up the the winning goal.

Just Like the SCLSU water boy is better than the Michigan towel boy.

They were perplexed at the large amount of stoppage time. To be fair, VAR is still pretty new and by habit, people tie stoppage time to injuries (is also called "injury time"), which there really weren't many. Now with VAR you have to consider how much time that is taking which will result in longer stoppage times.

Watching the game in London is so different. They kept harping on how America just does not finish well. That being said, inspire of the crap she gets on this board, Hope Solo is doing a better analysis than the Fox people.

Fox is awful. I need a psyched as frick British dude calling games. American announcers are boring as frick for soccer.

Don’t know what to tell ya baw, still not impressed. Sweden ain’t that good.

And “dominated” is a bit much. Yes they outplayed them, but they only had what 3-4 shots on target all match? They weren’t really creating meaningful chances, and that defense is still suspect AF imho. I’m rooting for em though.

I don’t necessarily disagree. Just thought I’d throw in some perspective

Nah I get it. It’s also funny saying it when they’ve literally given up 0 goals.

But they just look unstable against mediocre pressure, and I can see them cracking. Could be wrong though.

Round of 16 starting today with Germany-Nigeria.

Terrible defense by Nigeria on Germany corner leading to a goal but now VAR taking a look at it. Apparently they were were looking at a player who could have been "obstructing the view" of the keeper by standing in front of her on a corner bc the offside line resets as the player heads the ball on a corner even though you can't be directly offside on a corner.

Goal stands, thankfully. VAR has been awful for the feel of the game this WWC.

Nigeria must HATE VAR hahahaha

My problem with VAR so far is it gives refs a wide open range of things to be subjective on. It should be limited. They are being picky and also wasting time.

Another thing is usually when a defender gets the ball first it has not been a penalty.

You can't do what the Nigerian defender did. That's going to be a foul.
