I feel pretty good going forward with this side. As others have said, Blues haven’t been fully healthy this season and haven’t seen all of the pickups play together. Mendy in my opinion is the biggest piece.

Well Frick re: Mendy
Going back to London to be examined by Chelsea medical staff. Will probably miss Oct 17 match at home against Saints

Regarding Ziyech:
He’s currently training with Morocco with that knee heavily bandaged.
Frank has a choice to make for the Southampton match- Kepa or Willy. Kepa had a clean sheet for Spain against Portugal recently- does he deserve a shot?

That knee was injured during his lone appearance in a Chelsea shirt, a preseason friendly draw against Brighton & Hove Albion. We could see him in action against the south coast club in eight days times, and if so, probably in a limited amount of minutes.

Kepa will have the greatest game of his career book it

Update:
Édouard Mendy’s muscle injury isn’t a serious one, nothing torn. Looks likely to be fit for Southampton.
• Hakim Ziyech is now back training at Cobham, plan is for him to be fully fit and available
Good news. Also 10 should be good to go as well.

Ziyech will no doubt be raring to go ahead of his potential competitive debut for Chelsea at home to Southampton and was pictured putting in the hard yards with Christian Pulisic
Wonder how many minutes Hakim will get this weekend. Would love to see a full side with all of the new Blues getting time.

The blue transfer company is awesome. I hope they will succeed this season

Silva out is surprising. Does that mean Rutiger gets his spot? Mendy- I thought he’d be ok for this one. I guess Frank wants to give him more rest. Willy or Kepa?

Kepa, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, Chilwell, Kante, Jorginho, Mount, Havertz, Pulisic, Werner.
Subs: Caballero, Tomori, James, Hudson-Odoi, Ziyech, Abraham, Giroud
Would like to see James starting but this is a good XI. COYB

It feels damn good to finally have a striker in Timo.

We are seeing what the club envisioned
This unit today is very promising still Without Ziyech
