I really hate the way they do the pots. Seeding based on past accomplishments in Europe? That's awful. Group D is so much stronger than the rest, it's unbelievable. They need to get a seeding committee or some shite because the current system is awful.

Because it's a ridiculous stance to say that Iniesta didn't come close to earning the award, Unless you (ETA: you in the general sense, not you as in PTbob) think most goals = most prestige and that's it.

Iniesta, imo was EASILY the third best player in that group. His teams did win competitions, however, but that is luck of the draw to a degree.

When you score well over twice as many as anyone else in Europe while also creating just as many as anyone else (more than Iniesta) where is your argument coming from? You try to discount goals (which is dumb enough to start with) but totally ignore the fact Messi creates more goals and completes more dribbles than anyone else as well. Ask any Barca fan who they would rather have.

Winning the Euro's is obviously a huge accomplishment. However it's 6 games. No way it can carry more weight than the 50+ games of a league/CL/Cup campaign especially when you consider Ronaldy was one of the best players at the Euros as well.

I know, I'm just elaborating on the point.
I know I shouldn't be but I'm genuinely shocked there are actually people who think Iniesta deserved that award over Messi or Ronaldo.

Though I'm pretty sure they know they are full of shite they think if they pretend like Iniesta deserved they can act like a bastion of soccer knowledge and throw out the "goals aren't everything" etc... as if they have some deeper understanding of the game. I'm I'll soon be called a "troll" for daring to state Messi/Ronaldo are the best players in the Europe.

The votes were about even 19 for iniesta and 17 each for the other two, which isn't very hard to believe at all. I'm not saying they suck and wouldn't have deserved it had either won, but unlike you I am stating that any of the 3 could have won and it would still be a fine outcome.
