Guardiola seems like a risky idea. He is a great tactician, but he’s used to having more talent than everyone, which will never be the case for the US on a global scale during his tenure. He can’t buy new talent for a national team.

Pep did take college courses in America during his sabbatical between Barca and Bayern and he did say then that he would like to coach the USMNT at some point. Pretty sure he still has a summer home in the States.

With that said, I'm not sure how his playstyle would translate to the international game. It wouldn't shock me though if we keep Gregg through the Gold Cup next year and then hire a current club manager after they finish this season, whether that's Pep or someone else.
