Hi all,
I am a casual soccer fan. I cheer for the US and Dynamo when I go to the games.
I will be in Europe for the nov 20 match. It’s also on my bday. It’s in Genk, Belgium. It’s kind of out of the way but sounds like fun.
I went ahead and purchased a ticket for $30.
Does anyone have experiences with international friendlies? How is the atmosphere?
Is it worth it to go?
TIA for any suggestions and help

Definitely do it. I went to the Italy game we won in 2012 (Genoa) and the France game in Paris that year. Both were fun. Pregame on your own because they don’t tailgate over there. Maybe try to figure out where the US fan section will be, if there is one.

This is a joke, right?
Its a must to go. friendly or not, the fact that US is playing in a game overseas that you can get to is a rare opportunity .

My seat is in the fan section. TBD it says.
Yeah frick it. It throws my entire plan into whack but whatever.
Were there bars where Americans met up before the game? I’m going solo so I’m hoping to meet some people

i saw your message earlier but had to get into the office
yes go
i don't know if there are bars, but i'm sure the locals can show you an English-friendly bar
if you get arrested in Belgium, i do know some people from there

You should probably follow the American Outlaws on all the social media platforms too. As it gets closer to the game date, the ones going will probably start announcing where the pregame bar and all other events are happening at.
And also, that's awesome.

If you can afford it and make it happen, then he'll yeah you should go. Along with attending a world cup on foreign soil, something like that game would be on my bucket list. I was able to go to every match in Orlando for the 94 world cup and even got to see the USMNT play Australia in a friendly in 92 at the Citrus Bowl as well.
