Cavani will not be able to play his two way stellar performance.

I doubt Uruguay can get past France without his play.

I thought they had a shot to get to finals.
Muslera is injured too.
He shanked one and soon Godin took a couple.

Defensively their midfield denied space in goalmouth positions and forced Portugal to go wide again and again. So I disagree they had no midfield. They just made direct passes to the strikers, particularly Suarez, who had exceptional hold up play today. Portugal's midfield was non-existant as well, and I'm one of Carvalho's biggest fans. I don't think Uruguay wanted their midfield to play any other way save to deny Portugal space. The Juventus midfielder they have was an absolute unit.

They bunkered and ran their asses off. Cavani was their best defender.
