Newcastle managing director Lee Charnley was among those arrested.
French authorities also involved. No word on which clubs their could be involved although Marsielle would be the assumption as both West Ham, Newcastle, and Chelsea have all done business with them.

In a statement, HMRC said it had arrested "several men working within the professional football industry for a suspected income tax and national insurance fraud".

I think, I don't know, maybe a 10 point deduction for West Ham would be a fitting punishment

You don't get a points deduction if you avoid taxes, you get jail time.

I, for one, am shocked a Mike Ashley owned enterprise could possibly be implicated in any questionable dealings.

If they cheated, they should all just have their owners create new clubs, have those new clubs buy the names, titles, and grounds of the old clubs, and have the old clubs go bust. Then, when the HMRC tries to collect the money, they wouldn't be able to get anything and the fans could all say it was still the same club. You would, however, lose all of the players from the old club, and New West Ham probably wouldn't be able to force its way into League Two as easily as New Newcastle or New Chelsea.

There was a whole lot of saltiness in that post. When they buy Emerson Hyndman outright it'll be a matter of time before they win the league

"New Chelsea", I like that. Then I'll always be able to say I was there from the beginning unlike the rest of you glory hunting bandwagon wankers.

Seems like Chelsea should be docked 5-10 points.
