2010 world cup, Uruguay was the only country to not have a single player play in its domestic league.
The same was true for Ireland in 2002. The whole Irish team played in England, which makes sense.
Cameroon, who were in the same group as Ireland, was the only other team in the 2002 World Cup to have no domestic league players on the team.

One obscure soccer fact that makes me laugh it that MLS teams from the Western Conference won two straight Eastern Conference Championships in 2009 & 2010. And the NY Red Bulls won the Western Conference in 2008.
This was back when MLS had about half as many teams as it does now, and the playoff structure was really weird. The top 8 teams in the overall standings made the playoffs, and if there wasn't 4 teams from each conference, the extra teams got put into the other conference's bracket as a wild card team.
Well three years in a row, the NY Red Bulls, RSL and Colorado threw a grenade into the MLS playoffs and fought their way to a championship of a conference they weren't even in. RSL and Colorado won the whole thing, for their troubles.
So basically, for three straight years, the MLS Cup was not between a Western team and an Eastern team, as designed. Technically, that Western Conference title in 2008 is the NY Red Bulls most significant playoff accomplishment.
Thankfully, we haven't seen this cross-conference wild card silliness since 2011. And it will never return.

That Turkey team was legit, though. Brazil struggled like h3ll both time playing them (even got a ref call in the 2nd game I believe). Took South Korea apart in the consolation game.

nice. 3 draws and not enough goals to squeak in.
