Well he was talking about Slovenia.

calling people out on basic geography and culture doesn't make you a Euro snob.

Fun fact:

Did anyone else know that Albania's capital is Tirana?

No, that's Slovakia. I measured from the southern edge of Slovakia to the northern edge of Albania. If 350 miles is wrong, then blame Google Earth, not me.

Slovenia is 290 miles from Albania.

So we're just going to pretend that Slovakia has had no stake in what has happened in the balkan territories over the years? Ok.

Regardless, Slovakia just secured a spot in the knockouts, the team you swore made a mistake yesterday for parking the bus. Worked out like a charm.

Are you talking about Czechoslovakia????

Sure they got involved in wars along along time ago. But point stands they are not Balkan.

1000 km is 621 miles.

I just told map quest to take me from Tirana to Bratislava. It took me on a roundabout path that only took 709 miles. Took me through Paracin, Serbia and Szeged, Hungary

Tirana is ~90 miles from the northern most point. Bratislava is ~60 miles from the border point that is closest to Albania. Take out the extra 100+ miles that you have to drive out of the way and you are into the 400-500 mile territory. Not too far off the original 350 mile estimate.
