No chance with Diego snorting lines on the sideline.

Deceptively good. Have the right pieces, and always play tough.

Nigeria

And btw, how is a team who won the last Euro Cup and who is currently ranked no2 in the world a sleeper?

Also, when I say that Nigeria is a sleeper I mean they might make noise. No one outside of the top 6 per FIFA rankings really have a legitimate shot of winning this thing.

Ivory Coast, they might be the best African team to ever play in a World Cup (yes, I got this off the ESPN commercial haha).

I think many people are sleeping on Cameroon. If they can get past Nicky B and the Lego band and finish second, I could see the Indomitable Lions making some noise. Alex Song has become one of Arsenal's best and most consistent players. Sammy Eto'o is like a streaky shooter in basketball. Once he gets one goal, it could lead to many many more for Cameroon.

As of now they appear the one African side(besides SA) that no one is talking about. That is a good sign IMO.

definitely. Ivory Coast is awesome, but I sincerely think Cameroon can beat them. They'll get out of their group. I have them going to the 3rd round

Ivory Coast is in the group of death. Assuming Brazil will win the group, they have to get through North Korea (or Japan, don't remember) and Portugal.

Ghana is in the real group of death with the Aussies, Slobedon's Ethnic Cleansers and Der Hendoshaft. Without a healthy Essien or Muntari and already missing a star striker, Ghana has to be sweating. Essien's fitness is integral to the Black Stars (one of the best nicknames) advancement.

The host team always makes it out of pool play. I wouldnt be surprised if they made a run.

True, even if you have to hire FIFA to make it happen for you (ie South Korea in 2002 and the refgate).

Serbia is my sleeper, I think they may be able to win that group outright. Group D has no real weak link in it.

Australia has a whisper of a prayer now that Hiddink is gone. Kewell I've heard is in doubt to be in full fitness. They'll definitely get outclassed. Then again they may just foul the shite out of people and grab a couple of lucky goals.

Normally, I'm opposed to teams employing this tactic; especially on the Messiah. However since I have preconceived notions about the Australians being the super nice relatives of Canadians (but not nice in a way that makes you question their sexuality like Canadians), I will permit thug tactics from the Socceroos.

Agg-reed. Their team name is 'the Socceroos,' fer frick's sake. It's pretty hard to hate the image of a jovial kangaroo.
